If you haven't heard, Instagram has released a Twitter competitor for a text-based version of the app you already know and love. Threads is already insanely popular. It received 5 million sign-ups in the first four hours and hit the 100 million mark just a few hours ago. While a number of brands and celebrities have already signed up, Threads is already facing the heat from Twitter, with Elon Musk currently threatening to sue.
Despite this, Threads has garnered a lot of love, with many proclaiming that this is a happier version of Twitter. Meta plans to make Threads a part of the fediverse, which is a decentralized social media platform. This means that your audience on Threads can be a part of your audience everywhere else as well. Threads also plans to be ad-free for a while, at least until the app grows to a certain extent. In terms of content, Threads let users write 500 characters per Thread and the post can be supported with GIFs, videos and images. Currently, a Thread can support up to 10 images or media items.

The app is just growing and there's no Herculean algorithmic tasks to overcome before you reach success. Threads offers a vibrant opportunity to truly build a community you love, before the platform becomes too saturated. This is the perfect time to embrace Threads and get yourself an account!
