Welcome to another edition of The Report. This week's newsletter will be about how I’ve been using Craft. Craft is a beautiful document editor that I now use after using Notion for years. I’ve been using Craft almost every day for over a year now, and I don’t think I can go back to using any other application for my writing, brainstorming, researching or note-taking needs.
For me, switching to Craft from Notion made sense because I enjoyed the writing experience so much more here in Craft. Other than that, I found that a lot of my energy went to making my Notion functional, rather than just get straight to my work. With Craft’s folder structure, I don’t have to think twice about where everything has to go or how to organize so much of my work. Craft also works offline, is a native application and syncs seamlessly across all your cross-platform devices (thanks to the web version!).
Craft offers endless amounts of features that are perfect for anyone from a writer, to a student, to even a blogger! Now, with Share Analytics, any blogger or writer can publish their content on beautiful documents and analyze how your writing is doing. Here are some more ways that people are using Craft (my personal favorite is Organizing your life with the Johnny.Decimal system). Craft has really improved my writing process, ranging from researching, all the way to exporting my work into world class documents and sharing it with the world.
For me personally, Craft is used as my go-to hub for drafting up invoices and sharing client work, writing this newsletter and taking personal and work-related notes. I heavily rely on using my own Templates to make my workflow efficient, and I love using the Daily Notes feature to brainstorm and get things off my mind sometimes.
