Hey friends!
Welcome to another edition of The Report. This week's newsletter was requested by one of my readers and I'm happy to finally get to it (apologies for the delay!). Clay is a relationship management tool that I use to keep track of all the people in my life, from family and friends to potential clients and colleagues.
Clay is a beautifully designed app that puts privacy at the forefront. Clay cleverly uses your calendar, emails and social history to determine when it’s time to get in touch with someone. Apart from that, Clay also provides an interface that helps you remember important information about people and what matters to them. As someone who isn’t always the best at reaching out, Clay has helped me strengthen my current relationships and even reignite some lost ones.
Another way Clay helps me is by consolidating all the people in my life in one important place. Everyone from Twitter followers, to LinkedIn connections, to phone and email contacts now have a home in one place. Clay also uses this information to populate your contacts’ bio, education history, work history and more so that all the information that’s important to your relationship is just a click away.
Clay also offers a wide array of powerful tools you can use to keep track of your journey with a person. You can set a cadence that lets you connect at a set frequency and even have an entire history of all the emails, meetings, messages you sent to a particular person. You can add notes to every contact so that you can pick up right where you left off. With Clay, it’s never been easier for me to keep track of every important person in my life.
Personally, these are the improvements I’ve seen in my relationships after using Clay consistently for a few months:
Deeper, more meaningful interactions
Better understanding of every single one of my contacts
Reaching out at the right time (accomplishments, special occasions, etc.
